D&S Zambia Supplies Turbine PumpsD&S Zambia under MD Jonathan Mainga recently supplied and installed a large order of Grundfos Peerless Turbine pumps for Lusaka Water. The 3 units are capable of pumping 500 cbm per hour each and will supply municipal water for the entire city. 2014 Product Manual LaunchedA brand new Product Manual for 2014 has been launched, featuring over 40 new product pages. The manual is available in various formats and has become the regional industry product reference. New Nairobi ShowroomThe practise of continually improving facilities and premises is a tradition at D&S and the last few months have seen a number of initiatives, the latest project being the Head Office Retail Showroom which has undergone a major refurbishment. The product display area has been enlarged and improved with a new system of brightly lit shelving and box displays that now do justice to the ever increasing portfolio of products. The customer waiting area has also been upgraded and the number of customer service counters have been doubled. The changes will improve the customer experience by providing wider product choice in a better environment with more efficient service.
D&S Upgrades Manufacturing FacilityA recent HO inititative that will benefit the entire Group is the expansion and upgrading of the manufacturing and assembly facilities on Bondo Road. Not only has the area doubled in size, it also now includes new features such as a dedicated testing area for water treatment products, a control panel assembly area, a parts store and a water analysis laboratory. The new facility will focus its production on Dayliff Reverse osmosis and Ultra filtration as well as booster sets and will shorten lead times whilst increasing capacity and improving quality. The specialized facility is unique in the region and will considerably boost the company’s technical capacity.
