An important aspect of Davis & Shirtliff’s philosophy is to make a contribution to the communities in which it belongs with a particular emphasis on assisting needy institutions obtain water supplies. This is organized by a volunteer staff committee who put in considerable time identifying and executing projects.
Funding for the community activities is largely provided through an annual contribution from the company and staff, though business partners are also involved and Grundfos has been particularly supportive in the Company’s activities through both donations and supply of equipment
Apart from being involved in its own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, D&S sees that it has an important role and responsibility to play in working with other organizations interested in making a contribution in water related projects to make even a bigger impact on the community. The vast experience and expertise in the water sector put D&S in a unique position to provide leadership to the many corporates, NGOs and institutions locally and overseas who desire to maximize the impact and value from their contributions.
Some of the benefits of partnering with D&S include exploiting its purchasing power to purchase quality equipment at preferential prices.
The extensive D&S network of branches in Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Nakuru, Thika and Westlands and subsidiaries in Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Rwanda and Ethiopia, offers considerable scope for carrying out work in the nearby areas and this responsibility can be shared with interested parties.
